INJECTION

Time flies, a week has gone.

Last friday, we went for our Flu injection as we would be in HK in 2 weeks time. We went with Rachael's godparents and their children to one of the clinics at Sengkang's Rivervale Mall for this injection. Though this cannot prevent the current H1N1, we think it is better than no prevention at all.

I have been "preparing" my little girl way before the date of the injection. She has grown up now, she does not like to be "poked" by the needle. So I kept telling her that we need to have the jab in order to go for holidays and also told her that Felix "gougou" and Finnan "didi" will also be doing the same. At first, she kept rejecting the idea of the "needle poking" but was finally convinced. Just because the other 2 children are going together and we are going to HK Disneyland.

So, finally we were waiting in the clinic for our turn. We were then deciding who should go first. Mike volunteed to go first, but Racheal told us she wanted to be number One. Our number was called and we all went into the doctor's room. She was a very gentle lady and she suggested the "most afraid" one should have the jab first. So she asked "Who would like to go first?" Felix and Finnan both pointed at Rachael and said "She goes first." We were all laughing as that was really unexpected action for the 2 boys.

Relunctantly, my daughter went up to the chair and started to sway here and there. Mike then had to hold her on his laps to finish the jab. Of course, she cried but just for 5 - 8 seconds with large tear drops on her face. The doctor gave her 2 stickers for being so brave. Next was Finnan (the youngest among all - 3 months younger than Rachael). He was ok, he did not cry out loud but could see tears in his eyes. So it was Felix's turn. He refused to have the jab and started crying very loudly. We were all caught in surprised by his reaction. He was so calm when we were at the waiting area and he kept telling me he was not afraid of such because he had jab in school earlier too (he is in Primary 1 this year). After 5 mins, without further delay, his parents have to use force and held him tight in order to have the jab.

I was next. Racheal was so nice to me, she came to me and held my hand and started to comfort me. She even held up her little hand to cover my eyes so that I would not see the needle poking into my flash. After my jab, she went up to the doctor and asked her "Can you give my mummy a sticker?" Oh, she was such a thoughtful girl for her mummy.

Next was Mike's turn, he sat on the chair and Rachael was playing with Finnan and did not even look at him. Mike was a little be upset and told her daughter, "Is daddy's turn now, Rachael.". Rachael's response even made him sadder " Go lor". Gosh, Daddy's heart broken into pieces.......
Finally, all had the jabs and waiting for payment. We even reserved 3 more doses for the kids as any children below 8 years old needs 2 doses and the gap for each jab is a month. We will need to bring the kids back to the clinic in a month time. And we already know who should have the jab first......

Mothers' Day

Yes, it was yesterday instead of today but I have difficulty to upload my little princess' handmade card at home so I only it now, in the office, during Lunchtime.

Little Rachael made me a card from her Nursery class with minimum help from the teacher. I know it because of the handwriting and the drawing. What can I expect from a 3 years plus kid right? Below is the masterpiece.

(Front Look - Really look like her mum mey???)

(Inside - can you see she wrote E wrongly?)

It is indeed not the first "gift" she made for me for mothers' day. She made a red heart-shaped bookmark for me last year when she was still in playgroup. But obviously - 母親節快樂! were all written by the teacher. But this is totally different, the drawing, the coloring and even the wordings were from her - except "Love,".

Her daddy already asked the daughter will she make the same for him on Fathers' day? The daughter at first said "No lah", then she asked me for a piece of paper. I told her, she should do it only next month, because Fathers' day falls in the month of June.

Don't worry daddy, I will remind her to make a card for you too!

First Blog at 40......

I have finally created my first blog and am still learning how to use it and enhance the look. But I am already very happy I have done it, Hurray!!!!!!

Hm mm, what should I write for my first blog?? First Blog at 40s...... Yes, I have to admit I am already 40 this year, I do not really hide my age from anyone I know or anyone who ask. It is because, I always receive compliments like : "Oh you don't look like 40, I guess you are only mid 30s", "Are you sure you are 40? Don't bluff, you look young......" Hee. I must thanks my dad and mum who take good care of me for these 40 years. Yes, till now, they are still taking care of me - boiling herbal tea and soup now and then. Now my little princess is having the same treatment as well..... so lucky of her.....

I was talking to my gal friend the other day when she wished me Happy Birthday (last month), she told me she could be having mid-life crisis. She is 3 years younger than me boy but already saying having "mid-life crisis"! This topic never strikes my mind until that very day. Am I also having the same crisis, I am already 40...... She tells me nowadays she 提不起精神 to do anything but she does exercises regularly though. Well, I am still OK in the sense ya, I still go for mahjong games (which I love very much and secondly it helps to train my brains too) and watch my favorite TV programs and play NDs. The only thing is - I feel tired easily nowadays. People is telling me, I am just lacking of exercises. Frankly, I always want to wake up a little earlier every morning and go jogging at our downstairs' running track. So convenient right? But just fail to do so. This links to another topic - my resolutions for Year 2009. I am supposed to do the followings :

  1. Be more loving to my ah fat (hubby) : )
  2. Learn driving (have been pending for a long long time)
  3. Do some exercises, to build up a stronger mind and body (mainly to loose weight)
  4. To have another child (scare Rachael is too lonely)
  5. Study a little more about my Sales Job, at least some more knowledge about what I am selling and their uses (like applications), who are the competitors and so on.....
Guess I did not really achieve much so far. Ah fat still complaints I not loving enough, still did not take up any driving lesson, no exercises yet, tried hard to achieve pt (4) - no news at all. Last but not least, still blur blur about the products I am selling to my customers......

Gosh! I actually did not ACHIEVE anything at all and now is already May 2009, 5 months have gone, I better buck up buck up......
